In clear support to terrorism in the recent Pulwama attack, The Wire and the Supreme Court Advocate Prashant Bhushan wanted to establish that the terrorist blew up the CRPF bus because this terrorist was beaten up once in 2016 by security forces and problem in Kashmir. Though this should not have been the case yet presently this sort of myth is created when it is alleged that the youths in Kashmir valley join terrorism because of the problem in Kashmir or he has been beaten and harassed by the security forces. Ironically, certain people always try to find an excuse to start ranting about the so-called Kashmir issue whenever any notorious terrorist is eliminated by the security forces in Kashmir valley.
This sort of attitude is exhibited in the case of recent ‘fidayeen’ attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Pulwama, in which we have lost more than 40 of our brave CRPF soldiers. This attack was executed by Adil Ahmed Dar, a resident of Pulwama and Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist. Recently, the scathing remark came from Prashant Bhushan who tweeted "Pulwama bomber Adil Ahmad Dar became terrorist after he was beaten by troops". It's imp to understand why so many young men in Kashmir are becoming terrorists & willing to die. Even US forces couldn't hold Afghanistan & Iraq after large-scale suicide attacks”. The Wire justified it and started ranting about much-hyped so-called Kashmir issue.
Surprisingly, the Lutyens media and the sickulars overlook the plight of our security forces serving in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, especially in Kashmir valley, where they are vulnerable to the anger of murderous stone pelters, terrorists and cross border firing. Also, they are creating certain misconception about the problem in Kashmir. Even Pakistan plays a major role in it and gets support from a few Indians in its overt agenda on the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Killing of CRPF soldiers is not acceptable
In the recent terror incident in Pulwama, more than 40 brave CRPF soldiers lost their lives in one of the deadliest attacks. Surprisingly, Mr. Prashant Bhusan finds innocence of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist because once he was beaten up by the security forces. Can this justification is enough to kill so many brave soldiers, who have never been involved in the harassment of 20 years old Adil Ahmed Dar? It is alleged that once police stopped Adil Ahmad Dar, from the village of Lethipora in Kashmir, and his friends on the way home from school in 2016 and beaten them. They were beaten by the Police because they pelted stones on the security forces. Anger by this beating he was radicalized and became a terrorist of Jaish-e-Mohammad. Jaish is one of the most deadly groups operating in Kashmir and it has been designated a terror group by the United Nations since 2001. For Mr. Bhusan the Thursday attack is the retaliation of it what has happened with this terrorist. Dar was working as a labourer till March 19, 2018, and suddenly disappeared to take revenge and that too for something, which happened in 2016. Is this justification enough to blow up our brave and innocent CRPF soldiers? But yes a senior Advocate of Supreme Court Mr. Prashant Bhusan found that this justification is enough for a so-called well-educated labourer to blow-up a bus full of our brave hearts. He could not see that money, brainwashing by Pak-supported terrorists and the false belief in attaining haven were the clear reasons that led to this gruesome attack.
Incorrect comparison with the problem in Afghanistan & Iraq
Culturally, Jammu Kashmir is an integral part of India since ages and it will not be an exaggeration to say that Jammu Kashmir is India and India is Jammu Kashmir. The valley of Kashmir was founded by the Rishi Kashyap and even today we identify the land of Kashmir with our age-old tradition of Rishi Parampara (sage tradition). Martand Sun Temple and Shankaracharya temple are enough to prove the abovementioned facts and establishing the cultural affinity of Jammu and Kashmir with India. On the other hand, it is difficult to compare the intervention of America in Syria and Afghanistan with Indian’s intervention in Kashmir as both have different cultural links and ethos. Obviously, the senior advocate of Supreme Court Prashant Bhushan committed a big blunder when he made an analogy between Indian and American interventions. America is an outsider in Syria and Afghanistan whatever it does there it does as an outsider whereas India's presence in Jammu Kashmir is not questionable because culturally and historical this state very well represents India.
POJK is the real issue not Kashmir
Many sickulars and Luteyans media rant about the problem in Kashmir by keeping all the facts aside. Jammu and Kashmir is the 15th State of India that joined India through Instrument of Accession (IoA), which was signed by Maharaja Hari Singh of J&K in favour of India and the same was signified by Lord Mountbatten, the then Governor General of India. This was done as per the uniform legal process adopted with any other princely state that joined India. Though the Mountbatten letter was not legally tenable but even if it is to be taken into account then the procedure suggested by him to ascertain the wishes of people must be read. He mentioned that there are four ways to ascertain the wishes of the people. These four ways are referendum, plebiscite, election or even, if these methods are impracticable, by representative public meetings (Mission With Mountbatten by Alan Campbell-Johnson, p.263). India has already exercised the last two options, i.e. election in the state and representative public meetings, to ascertain the wishes of the people. Further, the UN resolution said about three conditions in the matter of Jammu and Kashmir and the third condition was plebiscite.
The two conditions proceeding to plebiscite were ceasefire and withdrawal of Pakistani intruders from the soil of the state so that free and fair elections for the state can be ensured. But the first two conditions never fulfilled and the plebiscite, which was to ensue after the fulfillment of the first two conditions, for the entire state, never happened. India waited for the international community to intervene in this matter and make a peaceful solution to the problems created by the Pakistani invaders, in this part of the country, but nothing happened in this matter and Pakistan is still illegally occupying the areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The preamble and section 3 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, which was prepared by people of Jammu and Kashmir themselves, mention that J&K shall, is and will remain an integral part of India and section 147 of the same Constitution mentions that the State Government cannot make any alteration in this provision i.e. section 3. Hence, it is important to note that the Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and the real problem is POJK.
Conclusion
There were over 10 Lakh people who had to flee from their lands in 1947 because Pakistan invaded there. The affected areas of J&K were Bhimber, Mirpur, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Deva Batala, Gilgit, Baltistan, and parts of Poonch that fell to Pakistan and they are now collectively called the POJK. The people from these lands even lost their near and dear one, who were butchered by Pakistan but they are waiting for more than 70 years to get their home back that has been occupied by Pakistan illegally and presently using it for training terrorists and spreading terrorism in India. These people are the real victims, who neither used a gun nor grenade against anyone but peacefully waiting for the auspicious day to come. Even Kashmiri Pandits were expelled from Kashmir valley and that was not a simple beating or harassment but a clear threat to their lives. In those dreadful days, more than 1000 Pandits lost their life but they did not throw the grenade or shot bullets. They have been protesting peacefully for their rights.
The present encouragement to terrorists would actually inspire more than three lakh Pandits and more than 10 lakh POJK displaced people to take up arms and do everything to expel people from their lands. Will it not create an unprecedented problem? It is essential that terrorism must be condemned by all without seeing the religion of a terrorist. Also, one should be clear of the facts on Jammu and Kashmir so that real information should be spread and not a fallacy. The present problem in Kashmir is the result of misinformation and mishandling and it is our collective responsibility to clear the myth around the problem in Kashmir irrespective of whatever ideology or political inclination or affiliation we have.
