Two policemen have been martyred in Srinagar’s Nowgam Bypass after some armed terrorists fired indiscriminately upon a police team on Friday morning. The area has been cordoned as of now to trace the attackers.

 

Early on Friday, after terrorists attacked a police team near Nowgam bypass in Srinagar, three police personnel were injured in the firing. While the injured cops were timely shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, two of them attained martyrdom.

 

The terrorists indiscriminately fired at the police team wherein three policemen got seriously injured. When referred to the hospital, two of them succumbed to injuries, according to the J&K police.

 

The attack comes a day before Independence Day when the security is on high alert across the Union Territory and around.

 

Meanwhile, the area is cordoned off and more details are awaited.
