Sweden is covered in dense smoke since Friday evening witnessing major riots with violent mob engaged in arson and destruction of public property following a video that went viral early Friday, showing a right-wing activist burning the ‘Holy Book’. Hundreds of people on Friday gathered in southern Swedish town Malmo and resorted to incidents of vandalism including stone-pelting at police vehicles and tire-burning when the police officials tried to restore the law and order situation.

 

 

Following the events of early Friday, by night, an angry Muslim mob hit the streets and shouted chants of ‘Allah hu Akbar’ while setting tires on fire. Rioters pelted rocks at vehicles and police personnel who were trying to maintain the law and order situation in the city. Nearly 300 rioters reportedly gathered to conduct acts of vandalism in retaliation of what happened earlier.

 

On the chants of 'Allahu Akbar' rioters as per the videos gone viral, could be seen hurling stones and paving bricks on police vehicles that arrived only to control the situation. Tires were burnt on streets as the vandalism escalated and several police vehicles were damaged.

 

 

 

 

Noticeably, a while back, Sweden Foreign Minister Ann Christine Linde had put herself strongly remarking on Article 370 and Kashmir issue, however, she probably has fallen short of words concerning violent riots in her country and such intolerance.

 

 

It was after the arrest of right-wing Danish leader Rasmus Paludan due to concerns about him breaking the Swedish law, that his outrageous followers in the southern Swedish city of Malmo to show their protest set a copy of the Quran ablaze before they went ahead with the rally, without their leader. Right-wing leader Rasmus Paludan was supposed to hold a meeting in the city to take part in a rally but was denied entry and stopped at the Swedish border.

 

Calle Persson, spokesman for the police in Malmo told AFP "We suspect that he was going to break the law in Sweden. There was also a risk that his behavior... would pose a threat to society."

 

 

After he was detained, Paludan put up a post on Facebook that read, “Sent back and banned from Sweden for two years. However, rapists and murderers are always welcome!” Which, for the records is true because recently in Sweden, two teenage boys were tortured, raped, and buried alive in a cemetery but the Swedish government couldn’t take any firm action against the criminals.

 

However, on the other hand, right-wing leader Rasmus Paludan was not even allowed entry to meet his followers.

 

 

 

Be it Delhi riots, or Bangalore violence this year that grabbed eyeballs from across the world many leaders from various countries like Ann Christine Linde herself along with the biased media do not take another moment to give moral lectures on secularism and tolerance, although, what is happening in Sweden currently or all other such reports of violent riots around the world has a common instance of ‘intolerance’ which goes conveniently unnoticed by such a brigade.

 

For instance, when an Islamic woman from Bahrain had smashed Ganesh idols, a Hindu flew down from Dubai to bring the crushed idols, and with all the rituals and Hindu beliefs, immersed it in the water to restore the glory of a Ganesh idol but did not utter a word or instigate the matter.

 

However, Sweden’s ‘Stram Kurs’ group when in order to support their leader burnt a copy of the holy book, over 300 Muslims burnt the city down amidst chants of “Allahu Akbar”.
