Lashkar-e-Taiba's narco terror- funding module busted, four terror associates arrested in Budgam
Jammu and Kashmir Police along with security forces have busted a narco terror- funding module of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba by arresting four terrorist associates from central Kashmir's Budgam district.
A joint team of the Army’s 53RR, CRPF and Police made the arrests and seized “three grenades, two AK magazines, 65 rounds of AK-47 ammunition along with other incriminating items and explosive substances” from the four, police said in a statement.
The arrested terror associates have been identified as Younis Manzoor, Mehboob Ahmed, Irshad Ahmad Ganie and Muzaffar Ahmad, all residents of Budgam. Budgam Police tweeted this information.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested terrorist associates were involved in providing logistic support to the proscribed terror outfit LeT by distributing proceeds of narcotics to active terrorists and terror operatives of the outfit.
Five vehicles that were purchased using the proceeds of the narcotics sale were also seized. These vehicles were to be sold upon orders from active terrorists and operatives as and when money was required by the terrorists, the statement added. A case in this regard has been registered in the Chadoora Police station and further investigation is on.
