ASI martyred, two cops injured in a terrorist attack in Srinagar

 

An assistant sub inspector of Jammu & Kashmir Police was killed and two cops were injured in a terrorist attack at a police check post in Lal Bazar area of Srinagar on Tuesday evening.

 

Preliminary investigation reveals that terrorists fired upon a naka (checkpoint) party near G D Goenka Public school area of Lalbazar Srinagar resulting in gunshot injuries to three personnel namely ASI Mushtaq Ahmad, HC (Head Constable) Fayaz Ahmad and SPO (Special Police Officer) Abu Bakar. In the attack, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Mushtaq Ahmad was killed while the two constables, were injured in the attack.The injured cops were rushed to a hospital.

 

The slain officer has been identified as ASI Mushtaq Ahmad (55), from Kulgam , who succumbed to injuries sustained as the terrorists “fired indiscriminately”, the police said.
