Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) National Gen. Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, on Sunday participated in a function organised by J&K People' Forum, accompanying with Kargil Vijay Diwas to honour the kin of martyrs of all security forces who laid down down their lives while serving for the nation since 1947 at Gulshan Ground Jammu.
Defence minister recalled the contributions of those who laid their lives for the country and paid floral tributes to the martyrs. While addressing the gathering, Singh said, We’ll remember those who laid their lives in the country’s service. Our Army has always made this supreme sacrifice for the country. Several of our brave soldiers laid their lives in the 1999 war, I bow down to them.”
Defence Minister spoke about Nehru:-
Singh spoke about Jawaharlal Nehru, the country’s first Prime Minister, under whose leadership China had occupied India's area in Ladakh in 1962. “In 1962, China captured our area in Ladakh with Pandit Nehru as our PM. I will not question his intentions. Intentions can be good but the same does not apply to policies. However, today's India is one of the most powerful countries in the world.
PoJK part of India and shall always remain:-
Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) was, is and shall always remain an integral part of India, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said.
We are committed to the resolution passed in the Parliament on PoJK. PoJK was, is and shall always remain an integral part of India. How is it possible that Baba Amarnath is in India and Maa Sharda Shakti is across the Line of Control, " the defence minister said while referring to the Sharda Peeth shrine, which has the ruins of a temple to Hindi Goddess Saraswati, also known as Sharda. A strong and confident new India is well-equipped to give a befitting reply to anyone who casts an evil eye. Making India a global superpower will be a fitting tribute to our fallen heroes," he said.
Abrogation of Article 370 is New Dawn for people of J&K:-
The abrogation of article 370 has brought a new dawn of hope to the aspirations of the people of J&K. I appreciate the initiative of J&K People's Forum to celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas. Our security forces have made supreme sacrifice for the nation. J&K, Ladakh became a war theatre soon after independence. Singh said that the Kargil war underlined the dire need to achieve jointness and self-reliance in the defence sector. Setting up of Joint Theatre Commands and reforms to achieve self-reliance in defence are the steps taken in that direction.
We fulfilled the dream of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee. We abrogated article 370 and 35A," he said.
Pakistan is not correcting its ways:-
Singh during his address made a scathing attack on Pakistan and said that after tasting defeat in 1965 and 1971 wars, Pakistan adopted the path of proxy war. It has tried to bleed India with innumerable cuts but time and again, our brave soldiers have shown that no one can disturb the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India.
Our forces made Pakistani forces to surrender. Pakistan is our neighbour. We want good relations with our neighbours. Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji used to say that we can change friends but not neighbours. But Pakistan is not mending its ways. Singh reiterated that i want to assure the nation that if any international power invades us, we will give a befitting reply and emerge victorious.
Dattatreya Hosabale said it's a matter of privilege for him to participate in this event:-
While addressing the event, RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said, today is a golden day for me as I am with families of those who gave their lives for the country. We got freedom with the struggle of many generations. Several people gave the supreme sacrifice. I urge the new generation to remember these sacrifices and pledge to make India great. In his address, he described the function organised in honour of the martyrs and their families as a golden day.
People of PoJK the first victims:-
Hosabale in his address called the people of Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) the first victims of the Indo-Pak conflict and said that the people of the region are looking towards India for freedom from Pakistan. They should get complete justice. They pity themselves today.
Pakistan still occupies large parts of J&K:-
During the address, Hosabale said large parts of JK and Ladakh continue to be under Pakistan’s illegal occupation after it attacked Jammu and Kashmir in 1947. He said lakhs of people, who were forced out of the area, are living in JK and different parts of the country.
There is hardly a family which did not lose a member (during the attack). Despite facing such misfortune, they have contributed to building this nation. While living in Jammu and Kashmir, they have become partners in nation building.
Hosabale said, "Pakistan attacked J&K in 1947 and many atrocities and genocide were committed but Indian Army secured our area from clutches of Pakistan." He further said, "Pakistan killed 20000-25000 people only in Mirpur city and similar kind of atrocities were done in other parts."
Pakistan has cast its evil eye on Jammu and Kashmir since Independence. Pakistan has been spreading terrorism and separatism since 1947 in a bid to destabilise the country," he said. He lauded the security forces and local people for foiling Pakistan's terror attempts and said that separitism and terrorism has weakened but not ended.
Hosabale lauded Maharaja Hari Singh :-
Hosabale said, "Jammu and Kashmir faced many challenges and Maharaja Hari Singh was at the forefront to face this challenge. On the one side, Pakistan had it's eyes of J&K and on the other hand, Britishers also wanted the accession of J&K to be done with Paksitan and not India but Maharaja defeated both the conspiracies. He was farsighted. Maharaja Hari Singh did accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India and the people of J&K then proudly said they are Indians."
He further said that, even after the accession of J&K to India, many of the provisions of the Indian Constitution due to the Central leadership and conspiracies of the local J&K rulers did not apply there. and therefore, Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee started the country's first mass movement for it. When I enter J&K, I salute brave hearts who made sacrifices including Shayam Prasad Mukherjee... We said dual constitution and flags won't work.
Hosabale said that, Articles 370 and 35 a have been removed, Women, Dalits , Scheduled Tribes , West Pak refugees and Gorkhas living in J&K were all against these as they were the biggest impediments in their development. These people have fought a long war and now they have won. Today there are political reservations for them , women have equal rights, Dalits have equal rights like rest of the country.
