Hundreds bid a final farewell to Inspector Masroor Wani with moist eyes in Srinagar, Wani was shot by terrorists on October 29, leading to his demise

Hundreds bid a tearful farewell to Inspector Masroor Wani in Srinagar yesterday, as he succumbed to gunshot wounds inflicted by terrorists during his 39-day hospitalization at AIIMS. Prominent police and administrative officials attended the final rites.

 

Inspector Masroor Wani, who was shot by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists on October 29 in Srinagar while he was playing cricket, succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS, New Delhi on Thursday.

 

ADGP Law and Order Vijay Kumar stated that the investigation into Inspector Wani's killing has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and J&K Police and NIA will jointly investigate it.

 

LG J&K Manoj Sinha assured that the supreme sacrifice of Inspector Wani will not go in vain. “We are firmly resolved to crush the terrorist menace and give a befitting reply to those who are aiding and abetting terrorism.”
