Remembering the brave, Indian Army’s Rifleman Aurangzeb Khan (Shaurya Chakra) who was abducted and brutally killed by terrorists in J&K’s Pulwama on this day
Aurangzeb Khan, an Indian Army soldier, a rifleman in Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles, was kidnapped by terrorists 5 years ago in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district and was later killed in cold blood on 14 June 2018, when he was on his way back home to celebrate Eid with his family.
He was kidnapped by four terrorists while returning home. The same evening his bullet riddled body was found ten kilometres away from the place of kidnapping evoking a nation-wide outrage. He was born on 24 December 1995 in J&K’s Poonch district. Therefore, he was only 22 when martyred.
He was posthumously awarded with Shaurya Chakra. He had participated in various encounters of the Indian army with the terrorist organisations in J&K. The kidnapper terrorists had also published interrogation video on the internet purported for the local officers, threatening them to stop participating in counter- terrorist operations.
Aurangzeb’s father Muhammad Haneef is also a retired Indian army soldier.His two brother also joined Indian army in 2019 and vowed to do whatever it takes to make the forces proud.
