Pakistan born and famous social media influencer Shayan Ali on 15 June announced that he has left Islam and embraced Hindu Dharma. While disclosing his reason for doing so, he held Pakistani agencies responsible for hounding him. In a social media post, he said it was lord Krishna who held his hands when Pakistani agencies were harassing him.

 

 

He also thanked the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKON) for never giving up on him. He also said that he is announcing his conversion or “Ghar Wapsi”, as he put it, after observing his ancestors culture and lifestyle for the last 2 years.

 

In his social media post he said that he had to leave Pakistan in 2019 because of torture of Pakistani agencies. He said that he had gone into a depression at that time and was about to give up when Lord Krishna held his hand. He added that it is time to give it back and make his ancestors proud.

 

He added that he feels very proud for coming returning to his roots and hoped that his ancestors would be feeling the same.

 

As a Sanatani, I want to make it very clear that I will not be a part of any hatred against any other religion. I respect your beliefs, and I want you to respect mine because my Gita teaches me to respect every person no matter what his or her religion is, Ali added.

 

On this special day, I also want to apologize to anyone whom I have hurt intentionally or unintentionally in my whole life because I don’t want to start this beautiful journey in my life by hurting people, he wrote further.

 

Notably, Pakistan intelligence agency, ISI, began hounding the social media influencer after he refused to work in an ISI’s PR music video with the name of “Kashmir Hon Mein”. They started accusing him of being a Jew and a RAW agent after he refused to do ISI’s video on Kashmir.
