Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a historic two-day visit to Kuwait, making the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Gulf nation in 43 years. Invited by Kuwait’s Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, PM Modi was warmly welcomed upon his arrival with cultural performances and enthusiastic greetings from the Indian community.
Speaking at a community event titled ‘Hala Modi,’ PM Modi expressed his joy at being in Kuwait. “It takes only four hours to reach Kuwait from India, but it took over four decades for an Indian Prime Minister to come here,” he said.
He praised the Indian diaspora for creating a “mini Hindustan” in Kuwait, with people from all corners of India uniting with the common spirit of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” Modi shared that he felt a deep sense of belonging and warmth since stepping foot in the country.
