After years of neglect, plans are underway to restore the famous Martand Sun Temple in Kashmir. According to a notification issued by the Jammu and Kashmir government, efforts will be made to restore/preserve ancient temples in Kashmir, including the Surya Martand Temple located in Anantnag district. Additionally, there are discussions about installing a statue of the ancient emperor Lalitaditya Muktapida in the Martand temple.
