Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have been convicted in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. Khan has been sentenced to 14 years in prison, while Bushra Bibi received a 7-year jail term.

The case revolves around allegations that during his tenure as prime minister, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi accepted valuable land as a bribe from real estate tycoon Malik Riaz. In exchange, Khan helped Riaz settle £190 million ($240 million) returned to Pakistan by UK authorities, which was meant for the state treasury. Instead, the money was reportedly used to pay Riaz’s fines in a separate case.

This conviction is another addition to Imran Khan’s growing legal troubles. Since being removed from office in April 2022, he has faced over 150 cases, including corruption, inciting violence, and violating state secrets. Khan has denied all accusations, calling them politically motivated. He has been in jail since August 2023 on separate corruption charges and has already received multiple prison sentences, which he is serving at the same time.
